The Royal Decree 638 / 2009, 17 April, amending the royal decree 1370 / 2008, de1 August, which develops the organizational structure of the presidency of government, seconded the High Council of sports to the presidency of the government, and gave the holder of the ministry of the presidency powers la normativa vigent attached to the ministry of attachments.

The order of merit Sporty represents a public recognition to those who have distinguished themselves in the practice of sport, in promoting and teaching of physical education or in research, dissemination, organization and development of physical culture and sport. Has been regulated by Royal Decree 1523 / 1982, 18 June, which establishes the Right Order of merit Marina. The development of this Royal Decree was produced by Order of 24 September 1982 approving the Regulations establishes the ordinances of the royal Order of merit Marina.

The specificity of these distinctions and the principle of suitability of the means to the institutional purposes advises that is the High Council of sports which performs all acts relating to the granting of the royal order of merit sports, with the exception of the granting of the great cross, which will continue to be granted by royal decree of the council of ministers, in response to their special relevance, which comes to modify the royal decree 1523 / 1982, 18 June, in the sense exposed.

In his virtue, on the proposal of the Minister of the presidency, and after deliberation of the council of ministers at its meeting on 20th May 2010,

ME:

Single Article. Modification of Royal Decree 1523 / 1982, 18 June, which establishes the Right Order of merit Marina.

Modifies the royal decree 1523 / 1982, 18 June, which establishes the Right order of merit sports, as follows:

One. Article 4 happens to have the following wording:

"Article 4.

The entry in the order of merit Real Sports may be given:

1. On the proposal of the President of the High Council of sports.

2. Under reasoned motion Spanish federations, clubs or groupings Sporting or Corporations, Entities or Government agencies. »

Two. Article 5 reads as follows:

"Article 5:

1. The Large Cross will be given by royal decree agreed in Cabinet.

2. The other categories granted by the president of the High Council of sports. »

Single disposition. Entry into force.

This royal decree enters into force on the day following that of its publication in the ‘ Official Newsletter of the state ’.
