The council of ministers authorizes 17 million for programmes Team Spain by 2023

The Government gives the green light to programme financing Team Spain of the supreme council for sports for this year, aimed at enhancing the preparation and olympic team paralímpica and athletes, as well as strategic and disciplines in the screening of the image of spain.

This amount, from the income of the joint marketing of audiovisual rights of football, adds to the 16 million distributed between the sports federations last year, of the total of 48 million for programmes covered Team España during the olympic cycle.

Madrid, 20 june 2023.The council of ministers has today adopted a proposal from the minister of culture and sport, Miquel Iceta, the agreement authorizes the high council of sports (CSD) the convening for the year 2023 aid to the Spanish Sports Federations to implement the programmes Team España, $17 million euros.

It is the second year of implementation of programmes Team España, as a result of the work of the government of Spain to intensify the preparation and performance of the spanish athletes in the coming olympic and paralympic games in Paris. The aim is to overcome the results of Barcelona 92 -techo crystal brand of olympism and continue to be a global power in the paralimpismo.

Also, through the programme Team Spain Strategic Interest, would seek to ensure continuity in the successes of spanish olympic specialities, but not of great impact on the projection of the image of spain, as the world championship or motoring, among others.

Investment of $48 million in three years

17 Million this year joined as eur 16 million, distributed among the federations over the past year, and to join in three years (2022, 2023 and 2024) a total of 48 million for programmes Team spain to the paris paralímpica and 2024. A total of supplementary resources that depends on the revenue from the centralized marketing of media rights of the professional football league - known as Covenants de Viana.

These programmes enable CSD work with the federations to improve as much as possible the sports training, assessing the needs of each individual athlete taking into account issues such as the potential need for permanent or ad hoc concentrations in spain or abroad; support to prepare in their places of habitual residence; racing at the global circuits qualifiers for the olympic and paralympic games; requirements for equipment and sports equipment; and technological requirements to improve the preparation, among others.

Responsible for channelling funds directed to equipment and sportspeople are sports federations, whose programmes have been subjected by classification seek prior to the CSD.
