José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes: “ University sport is a centrepiece of our sport model ”

Rodríguez Uribes had appreciated the involvement of universities organizers and participants in the championship of Spain's university last year, which has broken the record of participation, with almost 6,500 athletes and officials.
Cuenca, 8 november.The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes today has presided in Cuenca full of 2024 comité español de College Sports (CEDU), the college of assistance and advice in this field of sport, attached to the presidency of the CSD and composed of more than 80 universities.
Rodríguez Uribes, who has devoted its first words to the victims of the DANA, has welcomed the involvement of universities at organizing and participating in the past 30 years of University Spain (CEU) convened by the CSD in 2024, year that has broken the record of participation, with 6,472 athletes and officials.
The president of the CSD has stressed in particular the work of the university of Castilla-La Mancha, for organizing the championships of 14 of the 31 sports modalities, coinciding with the designation of this Autonomous Community as a European Area of sport.
Not forgetting the university of Zaragoza, the European University of the atlantic, the university of Burgos, the university of Granada, la Universidad de Murcia, Universidad Camilo José Cela, the university of Vic, the university of San Jorge, the university of Huelva and the university of A coruña, who organized the rest of CEU this year.
“ university sport is an essential building block in the machinery of our model of sport, and promote talent active and healthy life among young people, ” said Rodríguez Uribes during its activity and has also highlighted the “ positive impact on their physical and mental health ” and “ improving the academic performance ”.
