Madrid, 26 november 2019.The high council of sports has housed today, the introduction of Green Sport Flag, an action plan for the environment caused by the Spanish sports association (ADESP) and involving the ministry of culture and sport and the Ecological transition.

This project, which was submitted within the framework of the united nations conference on climate change 2019, which will be held next week in Madrid, aims to undertake activities fostering environmental protection through sport. In this regard, actions such as operating a hallmark for sporting events, committed with nature, the study of the environmental footprint in sport, a symposium on water sports, or the creation of an observatory on Sport and Environment.

The secretary of State for sport, María José Free, has emphasized the importance of this kind of initiative because "together we can do great things. It is intended to close ranks and sport joined the initiative to have a better planet. We must begin now to work and sportsmen and women are our references".
