Approved almost 10 million euros for the scholarships ADO

The CSD, the COE, CHANNEL and ADO approved in the assembly and Board Of Directors held yesterday the amount for sportsmen and women ranked 383 the olympic games this summer.

Madrid, 22 june 2021.-The assembly and the board of directors of ADO, comprising representatives of the association of Olympic Sports, the high council of sports (CSD), the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and Radio Televisión Española (STUDIO), approved at the meeting held yesterday a budget of eur 10 million for 383 athletes who have managed to qualify for the olympic games (OLYMPIC GAMES) in tokyo 2020 and meet the requirements stipulated in the convening of the fellowship.

Both from the CSD and the COE has been working to ensure that an olympic period that no sportsman had the slightest problem in its scholarship despite the difficulties imposed by the pandemic. “ we have dedicated all our efforts to provide the necessary coverage sportsmen come to Tokyo. The aim was to favorecerles at any time providing them with an environment of stability and confidence prior to the games ”, has assured the secretary of State for sport, josé Manuel Franco. Of the 383 recipients from 2021, 70 per cent of them to individual fellowships, while 30 per cent for collective or equipment. By federations, with more athletes under the programme are: Swimming (63), athletics (47), Hockey (32), basketball (28), handball (28), and canoeing (24). In terms of obtaining the scholarship, 23,40% has done for medal on international championships; the 31,43 per cent for the achievement of diplomas (to be among the 8 best); the 6,96% for results; 12,19% by classification for the OLYMPIC GAMES; and 25,92% for trainers.

In addition to the approval of the amount already classified scholarship students, the assembly and the board agreed to hold a 320,000 euros for those athletes who succeed in their turn to the competition in the coming weeks. This ensures that those who comply with the requirements of ADO could compete in the games with the same financial guarantees. This decision concerns such as Athletics federations, boxing, Powerlifting or Ice skating, among others.
