THE BOOK “ NIÑAS LEGENDS. 25 SPORTSWOMEN THAT HAVE MADE HISTORY ”
Madrid, November 2019.TheONGWorkshop of solidarity (TdS) just put on sale the book“ girls to legends. 25 women athletes who have made history, ”a tool of awareness and education for development which seeks to reach young people in schools, libraries and in their own homes, to show girls that there are women in sport in which you can look and that they, like all these athletes, can achieve what may be proposed.
The book can be purchased through our website:http://bit.ly/35mPzgdIt is a proposal different and unique literary that not only about children and girls history of great female athletes, but through funds raised will finance new awareness programmes on gender equality, and also contribute to more women in Spain and the more than 13 countries where we have projects, can achieve their dreams of accessing decent employment and out of poverty.
This initiative was launched with a first print run of 500 copies, which Solidarity workshop edited with the collaboration of the Ministry of health, consumption and Social welfare, and that have been distributed free of charge between 14 centres and educational projects which carries out the projectAwareness training, which includes this tool“ girls to legends. 25 women athletes who have made history ”.
After the presentation of the book, on 7 November at the headquarters of the institute for women, has been made available to anyone who wants to free download of the book online via the webwww.tallerdesolidaridad.org. So far more than 1,100 downloads and numerous requests to obtain the printed book, since Workshop of Solidarity has been chosen to edit a second edition of 2,000 books for sale at a price of €16,90.

Workshop of solidarity is a foundation promoted by the Handmaids of San José, which aims to boost social justice, dignity and improving their living conditions, transforming society, and choosing the poor and excluded groups of women, children and young people in southern countries. Carries out its work through projects of development cooperation and social promotion, which enhance training and dignifying the work, as well as awareness campaigns and the promotion of fair trade and volunteerism.
