The council of ministers adopted 16 million for programmes of the CSD Team Spain

• The Government authorizes the high council of sports aid for programmes Team España Élite and Team Spain Strategic Interest of the year 2022, which aims to boost the preparation of olympic athletes, paralympic games and specialties to the strategic projection of spanish sport in the world

Madrid, 4 october 2002.The council of ministers at the request of the minister of culture and sport, Miquel Iceta, adopted at its meeting today the agreement authorizes the high council of sports (CSD) the convening for the year 2022 aid to the Spanish Sports Federations (FFDDEE) to implement the programmesTeam Españain the amount of eur 16 million.

This is a historic commitment of the government of spain with promotion of all sports, whose primary purpose is to intensify the preparation and performance of the spanish athletes and in order to overcome the results achieved in the Barcelona olympics - which remain the glass ceiling brand of olympism and continue to be a global power in the paralympic games.

An economic injection of 16 million for this year, from a total of $48 million for the remainder of olympic cycle to paris 2024- fuelled funds of the covenants of Viana -ingresos obtained from the marketing of audiovisual rights of football development, and distributed among athletes will be channelled through the FFDDEE. A judgement by the security council will decide the final list of beneficiaries, always on the proposal of the above-mentioned Federations.

Team España Élite and Team España Interest Strategic

In particular, the new sports training programmes implemented by the CSD are divided into two blocs. On the one hand,Team España Éliteit encompasses the athletes and spanish equipments with potential for a place among the eight best in the coming OLYMPIC GAMES and a podium in the paralympic games.

And, on the other party,Team España Interest Strategic is directed to sportsmen and women to ensure continuity in the successes of spanish olympic specialities, but not of great impact on the screening of the image of spain in the world, such as jet or motoring, among others. This chapter will also support professional sports as tennis and golf - regular aidÉlite-, which are eligible for aid for the development of the basis of the elite in terms of concrete projects to submit their Federations.
