  • The agreement paves the way for the Olympic Winter Games of Milan-Cortina 2026 and the Summer Games of Los Angeles 2028, reinforcing support for the Spanish Olympic sport.

  • The agreement allows the continuation of the CSD Team Spain-ADO Scholarships and incorporates significant improvements in the communication plan, with the aim of attracting more companies as sponsors of the Olympic team.

Madrid, 24 June 2025

The Superior Sports Council (CSD), the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and Spanish Radio Television (RTVE), founding partners of the Olympic Sports Association (ADO), have signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement that marks the beginning of the path that will lead the Spanish Olympic team to the Games of Los Angeles 2028, with a view also placed on Milan-Cortina 2026.

The event took place at the headquarters of the CSD and was attended by José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, president of the CSD and co-president of ADO; Alejandro Blanco, president of the COE and co-president of ADO; and Eduardo Fernández, director of corporate services of RTVE and vice-president of ADO. The general director of ADO, Jennifer Couple, has also been present.

From Barcelona’92, ADO accompanies the athletes in the great objective of competing in the Olympic Games, focusing on the path: in the silent preparation and in the technical and human work that hides behind each classification, each success, each Olympic dream. Because the Games are the destiny, but what truly unites us is all that is built up to reach them.

In this new Olympic cycle, which spans both Milan-Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028, ADO is updated to remain a sports development tool.

With the renewal of this alliance, continuity is given to the CSD Team Spain-ADO Scholarships, a key tool to guarantee the preparation of Olympic athletes in their high competition cycles. These scholarships represent the joint commitment of the signing institutions with sports excellence, technical support and financial support for those who represent Spain in the elite of international sport.

During the event, the president of the CSD, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, stressed the importance of this alliance, “which symbolizes the commitment of a whole country with its athletes and with the values they represent: effort, excellence, equality and improvement.”

“The renewal of the ADO collaboration agreement is a fundamental step in the planning of the new Olympic cycle. It means not only the continuity of a successful model, but also the reaffirmation of the support of the Government of Spain to the development of our sport by ensuring that athletes can prepare under conditions of security and economic stability,” said Rodríguez Uribes.

In 2025, the CSD plans to allocate close to 8 million euros to the CSD Team Spain-ADO scholarship system, whose financing is completed with contributions from the private sector. “Both in the public sphere and in the private sphere, we have understood that the promotion of the preparation of athletes is not only a bet for the results, but also for the best projection of our country in the world,” said Rodríguez Uribes.

This system of scholarships for sportspeople and aid for coaches includes in the beginning of the road to Los Angeles important improvements, among which the extension to the first year of the Olympic cycle of scholarships granted by ranking or the regulation of maternity situations. Athletes will maintain 100% of their scholarship during the year following the birth of their child. In addition, maternity situations will also be protected during the second year, in which they will receive 50% of the scholarship if they do not get more help for results, in order to facilitate their return to the competition.

Along the same lines, the president of the COE, Alejandro Blanco, has valued the continuity of a model that has been key in the great successes of the Spanish Olympism: “This agreement is much more than an agreement: it is a firm commitment to the present and future of Spanish sport. Thanks to the commitment of the Government, RTVE and the collaborating companies, we continue to build an internationally admired model that is fundamental to the success of our athletes.”

The COE, in addition to being one of the founding partners of the ADO program, contributes directly to the support of the Spanish Olympic team with its own resources essential for the preparation and competition of athletes. Among his contributions is the full sponsorship of the official uniformity of the entire Olympic expedition, as well as the management and coverage of the medical services – including doctors, physiotherapists and technical staff – that accompany the teams throughout the Olympic cycle.

To these contributions are added the resources derived from programs such as Podium, promoted together with Telefónica, and the grants from the UCAM University, channeled through the COE to facilitate the training and dual development of high-level athletes. These lines of support align with the values of Olympism and complement the ADO scholarship structure, ensuring a solid, coordinated and sustainable ecosystem for elite sports performance.

For his part, Eduardo Fernández, on behalf of RTVE, reaffirmed the commitment of the public sector to the program: “Today is a very important day for TVE. We have renewed the commitment of public television to the Olympic Sports Association. For us, it is essential to have the first level Olympic sport and work together for the Spanish sport. For RTVE, it’s the sport you want.”

The new communication plan designed by RTVE, included as an annex to the ADO 2028 agreement and which will be in force this year, includes the emission of 764 annual spots on its main channels —La 1, La 2 and Teledeportes— with a strategic distribution throughout all the time slots, including tomorrow, tabletop, afternoon and prime time. To this are added more than 4 million impressions of non-jumping spots on the RTVE Play platform, which guarantees massive digital coverage in the public audiovisual environment.

In addition, RTVE ensures the continuity of specialized weekly content through the Los Angeles Goal and Olympic Connection programs, which will be broadcast alternately and include broadcasts. These productions will feature headers and closures customized with the logos of the sponsoring partners.

The new plan also provides for the inclusion of promotional content from sponsors on Teledeporte’s FAST channel – provided the rights allow it – and opens the door to editorial collaboration through interviews, reports and other audiovisual materials provided by ADO.

All of this entails a significant improvement in the communication plan for this Olympic cycle.

Finally, the general director of ADO, Jennifer Couple, said: “From ADO I appreciate the support of the three founding institutions and, especially, the shared desire to continue working so that more companies join as sponsors of the Spanish Olympic team.”

The improvements of the convention aim to build a more attractive, modern ecosystem aligned with the values of Olympism. This evolution seeks to expand the base of sponsors that support the Spanish Olympic team, reinforcing its national projection and its commitment to the Spain Brand.
