The CSD commemorates International Women’s Day with a colloquium between athletes and an open day at the CAR in Madrid
Madrid, 5 March 2025.- The Superior Council of Sports (CSD) will commemorate International Women’s Day on Saturday, 8 March with an institutional event that will include a colloquium between the athletes Aauri Bokesa, Ana Ortega ‘Furria’, Eva Moral, María Vicente and Patricia García and the installation of several young sports stations for girls.
This activity, open to the general public, will close a day of call on the role of women in sport.
The main protagonists in this March 8 will be the athletes Aauri Bokesa and María Vicente, the B-girl Ana Ortega ‘Furia’, the triathlete Eva Moral and the rugby player Patricia García. Through a conversation, they will reflect on gender equality and women’s empowerment and set out the main challenges in their daily lives.
During the colloquium, they will talk about motherhood, eating disorders, body diversity, visibility and the need to have women in the world of sport, among other issues. In addition, the national breaking team and the gymnast Alba Bautista will make exhibitions deportivas.La Assistant Director-General of Women and Sport, Bárbara Butragueño, will open the day with an intervention focused on exposing the public policies
that the CSD is deploying to favor the presence and visibility of women in sport and that are promoting an increase in the number of women's licenses.
CSD President José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes will close this first part of the day to underline the commitment of the Government of Spain to equality.
After the institutional event, Aauri Bokesa, Ana Ortega ‘Furia’, Eva Moral, María Vicente and Patricia García, together with other athletes, will offer the audience the opportunity to know their respective sports at different stations installed at the CAR in Madrid.
Complementarily and in advance, between 3 and 7 March, the CSD will broadcast through its news channels different pills with the protagonists of the talk and colloquium as an expression of the fight for equality in sport.
