The Government grants Spanish nationality by nature charter to athletes Tim Frederik Dieck, Asaf Kazimov and Yixing Gao

Taking into account their performance and the results achieved

Madrid, September 16, 2025.- The Council of Ministers has approved three Royal Decrees granting Spanish nationality by letter of nature to the fencer Yixing Gao and the ice skaters Tim Frederik Dieck and Asaf Kazimov.

The nationalisations of Tim Frederik Dieck and Asaf Kazimov, supported by the Royal Spanish Federation of Ice Sports, could represent, due to their potential, a very positive contribution for the national delegation in the Winter Olympic Games of Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo of 2026.

Tim Frederik Dieck (Germany, 1996) is a partner with the Spanish ice skater Olivia Smart, being one of the best duples internationally. It highlights the sixth place achieved in the last World Championship, held recently in Boston.

For his part, Asaf Kazimov, born in Russia in 2000 and with German nationality, is a couple with Sofia Val García. They have a huge projection, as evidenced by their triumph in the last edition of the World University Games. Its main objective for this year is to achieve the second Olympic place of the dance specialty, in view of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.

The nationalization of Yixing Gao (China, 2010), which also has a promising future, is supported by the Royal Spanish Fencing Federation.

Given their performance and the results achieved, as well as the great talent they treasure, in the opinion of the technical specialists it is considered that the exceptional circumstances that justify obtaining Spanish nationality by letter of nature concur in all of them.
