Madrid, 31 march 2021.The new secretary of State for sport and chairman of the council for sports, josé Manuel Franco, has today taken possession his stewardship of this body in an act that took place in the facilities of the CSD and which have been present, inter alia, the minister of culture and sport, José Manuel Uribes, and its predecessor, Irene Lozano.

During his speech, Franco has emphasized the “ homework ” and “ challenges ” with sport ahead, as well as the “ importance ” for society. In this regard, has put in value the importance of sport as a vital tool and valuable to a change of the economic model and a knowledge society more cohesive. ” “ Sport is strategic for spain, essential tool for the momentum of the country. We must therefore be able to manage with rigour, speed and effectiveness european funds to reactivate the activity of sport on the basis of new innovative approaches and sustainable ”, has added.

The president of the council also has identified the main objectives that will meet during the coming months.
