José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, the new president of the supreme council for sports

It has ratified the council of ministers, at the request of the minister of education, vocational training and sport, Pilar Alegría

Madrid, 19 december 2023.-The Council of ministers has approved this tuesday, on a proposal by the minister of education, vocational training and sport, Pilar Alegría, the appointment of José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes as president of the supreme council for sports (CSD).

José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes (Valencia, 1968) is Doctor in law and professor of legal and political Philosophy, first in the university of Valencia (since 2001) and later in the Carlos III de Madrid university (since 2004).

Rodríguez Uribes was Minister of culture and sport of the government of Spain (2020-2021), Director General de Apoyo to victims of terrorism (2006-2011), Director of the Graduate Institute of Human Rights bartolomé de las Casas (2016-2018) and the Antonio Berinstain about terrorism and its victims.

Moreover, 2018 and 2019 José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes was representative of the government in the community of Madrid and subsequently Diputado in the assembly of Madrid.

Between october 2021 and december 2023 was ambassador of spain to UNESCO.
