José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes receives the mayor of Segovia, José Mazarias

Madrid, October 21, 2025.- The president of the Superior Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, received on Tuesday the mayor of Segovia, José Mazarias, before whom he stressed his commitment to the development of the city's sporting activity.

Rodríguez Uribes has offered Mazarias the collaboration of the CSD to bring sporting events to Segovia, a city that this year has already received institutional support on the occasion of its designation as headquarters in Spain of the central events of the European Sports Week.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the CSD, has allowed Rodríguez Uribes to know in detail the changes that have occurred in the project of construction of a new covered module of athletics.

In relation to this initiative, the president of the CSD has exposed the necessary collaboration for its financing of the different Public Administrations, since this sports infrastructure could not only transform the sporting reality of Segovia but also attract athletes from other provinces.

“The Higher Sports Council is working to ensure that sport reaches all territories. Segovia is a city with a great potential and sporting tradition, which deserves to have modern facilities that can host great events. Our collaboration with the City Council is firm and loyal to make these objectives a reality, as I have already committed myself in the past, together with the other Public Administrations,” said Rodríguez Uribes.
