Last days of public consultation on the draft royal decree Regime of sanctions and discipline and sporting organizations

Madrid, 18 april 2024.-The public consultation on the draft royal decree Regime of sanctions and discipline Of Sport and on the draft royal decree of Sports Bodies will remain open from 20 march and 20 april 2024.

Both projects address the need for adaptation to the law 39/2022, 30 december, from sport.

By royal decree of sanctions and discipline Regime is intended, on the one hand, to establish a renewed punitive procedure exercised by the General state administration and adapted to the current administrative procedure.

Through this Royal Decree will be tailored offences and penalties on the current reality of sport and the sanctions regime and the implementation of the third transitional provision of the sport act.

For its part, the royal decree of sporting associations which will renew the royal decree 1835/1991 on Spanish Sports Federations, addresses the need to update the general framework for which they discharge their functions, these entities in the light of the growing importance of sport and their organizations in the spanish economy. The professional leagues sports federations and require a renewed regulatory development, to respond to the economic importance and provide guarantees in its accountability.

This Royal Decree will regulate the legal regime, constitution, functions, structure and governance of the sporting bodies to ensure the rights of persons athletes contained in the sports act, and will improve the transparency in the process of governance on sporting organizations and guarantee the economic viability.
