Victor Francs renunciation of the presidency of the CSD

Madrid, 14 december 2023.-Today, i should like to announce my resignation of President of the supreme council for sports, a reasoned decision that caters for professional reasons.

We are at the start of the XV parliamentary term and with this convention, the formation of a new government, which opens a period of stability in sport. Because of my will, already expressed to the minister Pillar Joy, to undertake new professional challenges, it is time for the high council of sports, with a person at the forefront to assume the new challenges of this institution during the next four years.

Personally, i close an exciting phase in the national policy started in the hand of the Minister Salvador Illa, in march of the year 2020 at the ministry of health to face the pandemic, which we all suffer, to the greatest challenge that a public servant could afford.

Subsequently, with the minister Miquel Iceta, first in Territorial Policy and Public Service and then in the ministry of culture and sport, ending this stage as president of the supreme council for sports where i have tried to contribute to the development of public policies of this government, the most ambitious of the history of spanish sport.

I would like to thank the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, repeated expressions of confidence at this stage of my life. Also the ministers and the minister with whom i worked, for giving me the opportunity to develop my vocation of public servant in a progressive programme and transforming Spain.

Víctor Francos
