Inequality that, in general, still keeps women in a situation of social disadvantage with impact on levels of employment, political, educational and economic, takes some peculiarities specific physical activity and sport.

The Superior Council of sports, since 1990, which organized the National primerCongreso on women and sport, has been involved in initiatives that promote equity between women and men in the field of sport, whose impact has raised the percentage of female participation in the Últimosjuegos Olímpicoshasta 43% and increased the general practice of activities físico-deportivas of women in our country.

However, is aware that still much more can be done to improve the situation of women in sport, especially under laLey for effective equality between Women and men. In fact there have recently established ways of supporting specific actions that favor the presence of women in the different Areas of sport and there is an important commitment towards new objectives.

For its part, elSeminario woman and Sport of the power of THE MALL of physical activity and Deporte-INEF Polytechnic University of Madrid, along its seventeen years of activity and with the knowledge and experience accumulated over annual meetings between experts on the subject and investigations thereon, has come to the conclusion that the barriers that still have women in sports can only be overcome with programmes and specific actions geared to remove and to minimise them.

In order to promote a forum for knowledge and diffusion of actions already being made in this line by the different administrations, agencies and institutions responsible of sport in Spain and agencies working women and sport in the international arena, senior elConsejo sports in collaboration with the seminar woman and Deporteha organised conferencesThe promotion of women in sport: programs and actions, with the intention to obtain extensive information on strategies and existing models, and also their results.

With this, the days have sought to obtain some conclusions regarding the situation in which we find ourselves, policies and initiatives that are being carried out, strategies sports, educational, employment and social which should be established and attitudes that women and men should develop for achieving equity in sport.
