Renfe renews its commitment to the Spanish Paralympic Team games to Tokyo 2020
Madrid, 13 may 2019.-In the presence of the secretary of State for sport, María José Rienda, presidents Renfe, Isaías Táboas, and the Spanish Paralympic Committee, Miguel Carballeda, estamparon his signature on the agreement extending the support of the rail company Paralympic Team in their way of preparation to tokyo games 2020. On behalf of sportspersons was blind athlete Gerard Descarrega, paralympic champion, and european level of 400 meters, with its guide, Guillermo Rojo.
The relationship between Renfe Paralympic Committee and the Spanish began in 2008 and since then have accompanied the elite sportsmen/women with disabilities in four cycles of preparation for the different editions of the paralympic games.
Thanks to the support of Renfe, within the group of sponsors of the Plan ADOP paralympic athletes, have the means to obtain scholarships and aid to training, to attend a greater number of rallies and international competitions or to have the best professional, coaches, support personnel, equipment or specific medical services, among others.
The sponsorship of Paralympic Team English is one more example of the interest of Renfe to improve the lives of persons with disabilities, adding to its line of action to promote the accessibility, with initiatives such as the service of Atendo, assistance to disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility in trains, or the extension of the golden card to all persons with legal certification of disability.
