Rodríguez Uribes stands in solidarity with Del Cerro Grande and proposes a great institutional and social pact of recognition and respect for the referees

Madrid, April 2, 2025.- The President of the Superior Council of Sports (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, received on Wednesday the collegiate Carlos del Cerro Grande to convey his personal solidarity to the intolerable and threatening banner appearing a few days ago.

The Secretary of State for Sport at the CSD Headquarters meeting expressed his strong condemnation of this serious and inadmissible episode, which represents a violent attack on Del Cerro Grande, while demanding respect for the entire arbitral collective.

This Wednesday’s meeting allowed José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes to open a space for reflection and dialogue for the eradication of violence against schoolchildren and for their humanization.

It was attended by the Director General of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), Manuel Lalinde; the Chairman of the Technical Committee of Arbitrators, Luis Medina Cantalejo, and his deputy, Antonio Rubinos Pérez.

The Spanish Basketball Associate Arbitrators of the ACB League have also intervened through the figure of their president, Luis Manuel de Sancha, as well as Rafael Serrano and Alfonso Olivares.

Football and basketball are the two professional sports that form part of the Standing Committee of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport.
