Sylvana Mestre, silver medal of the royal order of sporting merit

The Higher Council of sport provides this recognition of the catalan for more than 25 years in support of sport and the formation of paralympic athletes

Barcelona, 25 octubre2022.The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), José Manuel Franco, delivered this morning in Barcelona the silver medal of the royal order of sporting merit to Sylvana Mestre, by its more than 25 years in momentum'esport adaptat and formation of paralympic athletes, both nationally and internationally.

Born in the catalan capital in 1956, after their experience as corredora skiing in the national team, Mestre discovered the paralympic sport exercise as a guide and trainer for athletes with blindness. From there, has served as national sorter paralympic team Alpine skiing, president of the international federation Paralímpica alpine ski and member of the technical committee for Alpine skiing of the International Paralympic Committee, among others.

After reaching the top, returned to the sport adapted and founded in 2008, together with Mariona Masdemont, the social enterprise Play & Train, dedicated to sports programmes for persons with disabilities and their familias.Debido its involvement with sport adapted and inclusion, by 2015 was awarded the highest distinction Paralímpica, of the International Paralympic Committee. Among many other merits, have the support of the outcome of the athletes who has prepared: 15 medals in the paralympic games and 30 in the world championships.
