This will be the new Centre of Excellence in Sports Innovation of the CAR of Madrid

José Manuel Franco has presented this Thursday the new Center of Excellence in Sports Innovation of the CAR of Madrid

The President of the Superior Sports Council, José Manuel Franco, has presented this Thursday the project of the new Center of Excellence in Sports Innovation of the High Performance Center of Madrid.

During his speech at an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum, José Manuel Franco explained that this space will have three axes of activity: research, sports development and academic training.

This project is part of the investment of 30 million in 2 years, from the European Funds, with which the Higher Sports Council is promoting the modernization of the High Performance Centers. The improvements aim to promote and achieve excellence in terms of innovation in these spaces.

The CAR of Madrid, in fact, is already immersed in a profound renovation of equipment and digitalization of spaces linked to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The rhythmic gymnastics room already has a new domotized lighting system, which makes it a unique space and reference internationally.

The badminton room will very soon have cameras for the analysis of the movements, with a goal of improvement in sports performance.

The track will be renewed so that in the nine streets up to three different foot tests can be done, prioritizing the prevention of possible injuries and greater efficiency in the performance of our athletes.

“I am convinced that this second great revolution of high-level sport, which we have set in motion and which is already unstoppable, will have an impact similar to that of the Barcelona’92 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said CSD President José Manuel Franco.

“If in 1992 sport led to the modernization of an entire country, in the present time sport will also be at the forefront of social transformation. That will be the legacy of the technological revolution, which is changing sport and improving people’s lives,” he said.
