The Commission against Violence in Sport proposes a fine of 5,000 euros to an amateur who threw a banana at Vinicius Junior

5 de February de 2026.- The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport has proposed a fine of 5,000 euros for an amateur accused of throwing a banana to the player Vinicius Junior during the game of octaves of final of the King's Cup of Football between Albacete Balompié and Real Madrid CF.
The file prepared by the National Sports Office (OND) of the National Police provided images of the launch from the grandstand of the municipal stadium Carlos Belmonte during the celebration of the last goal of the local team, in a meeting held on January 14.
The State Commission describes the facts as a serious violation, contemplated in Law 19/2007 of July 11 against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport, and requests for the amateur a ban on access to sports venues for a period of 12 months.
Clubs
In addition, the State Commission has proposed a fine of 50,000 euros for CD Guadalajara for exceeding the capacity of an extra stand installed in the Municipal Stadium Pedro Escartín in the Copa del Rey match against FC Barcelona last December 16.
The club set up three extra stands for the match, two reserved for 500 people and a third for 1,500. However, according to the report prepared by the Security Coordinator, the structures did not have in order the documentation of the City of Guadalajara and the Local Police kept them closed until half an hour before the start of the match. Finally, the opening of the largest stand was allowed, where the fans gathered, without real control over the capacity and covering the possible evacuation routes.
The State Commission against Violence in Sport considers that the CD Guadalajara put at risk the safety of spectators and proposes a sanction of 50,000 euros for a serious violation of Law 19/2007 of July 11 against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport.
Ultras
On the other hand, the State Commission against Violence in Sport has proposed to sanction 51 fans of Sevilla FC and Real Betis Balompié for different incidents that occurred during the Sevillian derby on November 30.
Among these supporters are 14 Real Betis Balompié fans accused of participating in a massive fight against Sevilla FC radicals in the run-up to the derby. The National Police arrested these followers and maintains an investigation into the facts.
The State Commission requests fines of 5,000 euros and the prohibition of entry to stadiums and sports venues for 12 months for the commission of a serious infringement.
In addition, the Commission proposes to sanction four Sevilla FC fans for throwing objects on the field. The cameras of the National Police captured the Sevillian fans in detail. A fine of 3,001 euros is requested and the ban on access to sports venues for six months.
The rest of the sanction proposals for this match correspond to fans of Real Betis Balompié who bought tickets in different sectors of the field that had been vetoed for security reasons. They are offered fines of 150 euros for minor infractions.

In addition, the Commission requests a fine of 1,500 euros for an amateur for increasing the player Yuri Berchiche in the visit of the Athletic Club of Bilbao to Vigo last December.

The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport is a collegiate body responsible for the formulation and implementation of active policies against violence, intolerance and the avoidance of racist practices in sport.
The Standing Committee, which meets on a fortnightly basis, is composed of representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Higher Sports Council, the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, La Liga, the ACB and the Attorney General’s Office.
The declaration of high risk implies the adoption of additional measures in the security of the event, the limitation of the sale of tickets in person on the day of the match and the reinforced control of the visiting fans.
