The CSD and the group GEICAM joined to act against breast cancer

Both entities have reached an agreement has among its objectives the dissemination of the benefits of the practice of physical activity, sports and habits of healthy lifestyle among the population to play in reducing the risk of breast cancer and in overcoming this tumour.

Physical exercise reduces the risk of breast cancer and helps patients during the process and oncology, observational and epidemiological studies show a decrease in risk of cancer and all-cause mortality in patients who are exercising regularly.

Madrid, 17 october 2023.-The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), Víctor Francos, and the chairman of the research GEICAM breast cancer, Miguel Martín, have signed this tuesday, a general protocol for action, with which the two organizations share the objective of promoting sport for breast cancer prevention and improvement of the patients during the process and oncology.

A ceremony held at headquarters of the CSD, both entities have subscribed to its commitment to cooperate in the dissemination of the benefits of the practice of physical activity, sports and habits of healthy lifestyle among the population to play in reducing the risk of breast cancer and take action against this tumour.

“ we are convinced that the union between independent oncology research and cooperative manner, which provides knowledge about the effects of physical exercise through scientific studies, and in the field of public administration in terms of sports policy will help to promote physical exercise as a tool for reducing the risk of this tumour and to help improve the forecasting of breast cancer patients, ” said dr Miguel Martín, president of GEICAM.

The campaign emphasizes that every minute counts to ask the people who donate minutes of investigation, which will be translated into better diagnosis and treatment more precise and individually.

To that end, the initiative it relies on the actual testimony of two oncologists and two patients with the disease to translate the importance of “ hard ” by patients, through the support of research, through the exercise by giving visibility to breast cancer.
