Between 2018 and 2025, the Higher Council of Sports (CSD) has earmarked EUR 12.6 million for the development of this programme, a fundamental pillar for the promotion of women’s sport.

Madrid, 25 February 2025.- The Higher Council of Sports (CSD) has published the call for aid to the Spanish sports federations for the development of the Women and Sport Programme in 2025, with € 1,800,000.

The support of the Women and Sport Programme is aimed at the promotion and dissemination of women’s sport, training, assistance for the movement of coaches, judges and federative personnel, the elaboration of equality plans and the recruitment of women in the federal sphere.

These grants are a fundamental pillar in the promotion of women's sport and have experienced since their start in 2007 - with an initial allocation of EUR 330,000 - a significant increase in the budget and in the number of beneficiary federations, consolidating their positive impact on the national sports ecosystem.

Promoting equality in sport is one of the CSD's priority axes for action. In fact, the data reveal an investment in the Women and Sport Programme of €12.6 million between 2018 and 2025.

As a result, in the last five years (2021-2025) the amount earmarked for this grant has been set at EUR 1,800,000. This historic peak represents a 50% increase over the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, when this aid to Spanish sports federations was €1,200,000.
