The CSD multiplied by four financial support to the Olympic and Paralympic sport

Madrid, 10 November 2020.-The president of the High Council of sports (CSD), Irene Lozano, he made last Friday, 6 November, throughout his appearance before the commission of culture and sports of the congress of Members: “ for this government sport is a public good and the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who come to Tokio games will count with all the material and human resources within our reach. ”

This is reflected in the different economic lines of general state budgets for the year 2021, detailing a considerable increase in subsidies to the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) and for the scholarship programme designed to Olympic athletes.

On the other hand, budgets contain an allocation of 5.7 million euros to aid to athletes representing Spain in international competitions, referring these they serve to complete the aid ADO agenda. Remember that the CSD has gradually increased its contribution to the program, dedicating 56% of total resources in the 2018; 61% in 2019; and 62% of the total budget during the 2020.
