Madrid, 14 may 2021.The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), josé Manuel Franco, has dismissed today to the components of the spanish selection of karate and para-karate that next week, from 19 to 23 may, disputing championship of europe absolute at the croatian town Porec.

Headed by the president of the royal Spanish Federation of Karate, Antonio M. Marqueño, all members of the expedition have visited the high council of sports to receive encouragement and Spirit of the secretary of State, josé Manuel Franco who has emphasized “ that in the last european held in Guadalajara the team got a whopping 13 medals. Today the karate english is one of the three world powers and i am sure that return with a good number of medals of this european and already i challenge you to be here at the high council of sports, to congratulate you. ” Franco promised them that “ we are going to do our utmost to ensure that karate becomes olympic sport after the olympic games and paralympic games in Tokyo ”

The president of the federation, Antonio M. Marqueño, thanked the president of the CSD all the help and support that has always received a great achievement of the secretariat of state and encouraged participants to continue to work with the same illusion and delivery. Finally he complained about his sport will no longer be in Paris 2024, but offered to fight for return to the programme in 2028.

For its part, Sandra Sánchez and Quintero Damian, the most prominent figures and recognized this sport in the international concert, were also appreciative of the CSD full attention and tenderness that they are involved. The Last european championship in 2019 was in the spanish city of Guadalajara, where the national team joined 13 medals. In 2020 there was no international competition to be suspended because of the global pandemic by COVID.
