José Manuel Franco participará en la XXIX Asamblea General del Consejo Iberoamericano del Deporte, en Cartagena de Indias

Together with government leaders of the 22 countries members of the CID and representatives of important institutions of the international level

Frank, in addition, working meetings with experts from the sport of the region to strengthen cooperation policy of the CSD

Madrid, 2 may 2023.The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), José Manuel Franco, will participate on 3 and 4 may in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) in the XXIX General assembly of the Latin American Council of sport (CID), a forum which has become the last three decades in the main crossroads of government leaders of the sport of the 22 countries of the region.

The training centre of the spanish agency for international cooperation for development (AECID) will host the twenty-ninth General Assembly of the idc.

This meeting be held within the framework of the American Summit of sport and will be attended by representatives of major international institutions, such as the Ibero-American Secretariat (SEGIB SHOULD), the German Agency for cooperation (GIZ), the inter-american development bank (IDB), the bank of development in latin america (CAF), UNESCO and LaLiga, among others.

This call will be one of the most relevant in the history of Latin American Council of sport, given the significance of the topics to be dealt with.

In the agenda of the General assembly stresses, in particular, the presentation of the Ibero-American Indicators of sport for development ”, a project developed in collaboration with UNESCO and the German Agency for cooperation, following the unanimous agreement of the assembly of the Latin American Council of sport. This plan will have a direct impact on the policies of sport for development of the countries of latin america.

“ the policy of international cooperation in the field of sports preminente occupy a place in the agenda of the council for sports. And this is because the global challenges require collective responses and constructive, such as we are debating every year within the framework of the Latin American Council of sport, ” said the president of the CSD, José Manuel Franco.

“ Being an active member of the CID, our country has a high degree of responsibility within the ibero-american community. It brings us together challenges of present and future of sport, social and political spheres, ” the secretary of State for sport.

American summit of sport

From 3 to 5 may, Cartagena de Indias hosted simultaneously by the General assembly of the Latin American Council of sport and the American Summit of sport, which includes the assemblies of the american board of sport; as well as the regional councils, the South American Council of sport (CONSUDE) and the caribbean and Central American sport (CONCECADE).
