José Manuel Franco visit centers state Sport

• The new president of the CSD and secretary of state for sports began its journey by CAR, with the visit to the centre of Madrid

Madrid, 06 april 2021.The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), josé Manuel Franco, has come today the facilities of the sport (CAR) of Madrid in the beginning of a series of visits with which, in the next few days, pretend to know at first hand the CAR where spanish athletes train high-Level every day and finalizing its preparation for the olympic and paralympic games in Tokyo.

After taking office last week, josé Manuel Franco has done today a tour through the different spaces of Madrid in initial contact with the athletes, technical and support staff who use these sports facilities.

The secretary of state for sports has been able to exchange views with the spanish sorters teams rhythmic gymnastics and artistic, Alejandra Quereda and lucía Stew, respectively; the boxing chooser, Rafa Lozano or trainers of athletics Antonio Serrano and Juan Carlos Álvarez. Also, José Manuel Franco spoke to athletes as María Xiao (table tennis), Jairo Ruíz (paralympic triathlon), Irene Sánchez Escribano (athletics) or maría Delgado (swimming paralímpica).

Commitment to the CAR

The budget of the high council of sports for this year, whose funding will eventually overcome the 251 million euros, the highest number of this century spanish dedicated to sport, sets out the increase of various line items addressed to the preparation of the high-level sportsmen.

Among them, the increase of 42 per cent of the allocation to operational expenses and activities of high performance centres Canoe and compared with the previous budget. In Addition, the allocation for the National programme for Sports and Canoe Sports Promotion is increased by 33 per cent and double the transfer to sports facilities and equipment.

In the coming days, the secretary of State for sport is scheduled to visit the Sierra Nevada, Sant Cugat and león.
