José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes receives BSR amiab Albacete, European champion of wheelchair basketball

The Albachetian team has conquered the continental title for the fourth consecutive time

Madrid, June 12, 2025.- The president of the Superior Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, received this Thursday the players of the BSR amiab Albacete, whom he congratulated for the conquest of the European Wheelchair Basketball Cup.

The Albachetian club, which won over Deco Amicacci Abruzzo in the final played in Istanbul by 62-42, has received the recognition of the president of the CSD in an act held in the Samaranch Room, which has also been attended by the president of the Spanish Federation of Sports of People with Physical Disabilities, Enrique Álvarez, and the managing director of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, Alberto Jofre.

This title, according to Rodríguez Uribes, projects “a leading club in Castilla-La Mancha” as the “best team in Europe”.

In addition, the president of the CSD has highlighted that the BSR amiab Albacete endorses two of the principles of the current Sports Law, such as “universal access to sports practice” and “inclusion of people with disabilities”.

Along with the players have also been present the coach of the team, Abraham Carrión, and the president of the entity, Emilio Sáez.
