Madrid, 12 September 2018.-La Higher Council chairperson of sports, María José Free has presided today in Madrid the announcement of the activities of the fourth edition of the European Week of sport 2018, an initiative of the European commission, with the motto of # BeACTIVE, promotes sports and physical activity of all citizens of the countries of the European Union regardless of age, gender, physical condition and capacity.



European Week of sport 2018 will start in Madrid in the esplanade of the Bridge of the king next September 23 morning and will close the day 29 in value in a great night. The main news with regard to the three previous editions is that this year will be a caravan with varied sports exhibitions that will visit the towns of Tarancón (day 24 September), Basin (day 25), Sarrión (Teruel, day 26), Tortosa (Tarragona, day 27) and Castellón (day 28).




The secretary of state for sport has been accompanied the event by different authorities of localities which will present the caravan, as well as the ambassadors appointed this year, which are the former gymnast Almudena Cid, the waterpolista Víctor Gutiérrez and the Paralympic skier Jon Santacana, who have come together to your guide, mike Galindo.




During his speech, Free has stated that the aim of the caravan is “promote participation in sport in all its variants and possibilities. On behalf of the towns hosting the caravan have spoken the mayor of Tarragona, Meritxell Roigé and the president of the region Gúdar-javalambre (Teruel), Yolanda Seville.
