Nine spanish athletes competing XXIX edition of the winter Universiada

Madrid, 07 march 2019.Since 2 march is held in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) the XXIX edition of the Universiada of winter, a competition involving university best athletes of more than 50 countries.

España has a representation of nine athletes competing in four of the eleven categories that are held. Adur Etxezarreta, Nuria Pau, Ibon Mintegui and Mirentxu Miquel, alpine skiing; Martí Vigo and Alba Puigdefábrega, nordic skiing; Marc Roure, snowboarding and Gaizka Madejón and Valentina Matos, ice-skating.

So far been held seven of the fifteen evidence on which is projected to remain, Adur Etxezarreta which has achieved a better result to achieve And The fourth.

This multidisciplinary competition will end on 12 march, which will take place the closing ceremony, and that Martí Vigo will represent our country in the nordic skiing.

Winter Universiada

The Universiada winter games are organized by the international federation of University Sports (FISU – FOUNDATION FOR INTERNATIONAL SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENT). It is held every two years, and it involves students around the world between 17 and 25 years.

In this twenty-ninth edition are present more than 3,000 athletes from 58 countries competing for 76 medals in the disciplines of biatlon, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, guidance, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, curling, jump in ice-skating, skiing, skating, ball hockey and ice hockey.

The term “ Universiadas ” is the result of the union of the terms “ university ” and “ Olympics ”.
