The president of the CSD meets with his Palestinian counterpart to strengthen the role of sport as a tool of peace
José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes and Jibril Rajoub have made progress in establishing a joint work agenda for the coming months.
Madrid, November 14, 2025.- The President of the Higher Council of Sports (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has received the President of the Higher Council of Youth and Sport of Palestine, Jibril Rajoub, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation and analyzing new joint initiatives aimed at promoting peace and understanding through sport.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the CSD, Rodríguez Uribes conveyed to Rajoub the solidarity of the Government and Spanish society with the Palestinian people in the situation of violence and suffering that Gaza is experiencing, recalling the multiple public expressions of support that, in recent months, have demanded a just, lasting and respectful peace with respect for human rights; especially, from the field of sport.
José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes and Jibril Rajoub have made progress in establishing a joint work agenda for the coming months, in which Spain and Palestine will strengthen their channels of collaboration through the implementation of projects aimed at promoting a peace solution and promoting the best values of sport.
