Madrid, 30 january 2023.The Standing Committee of the state commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport has gathered today in the headquarters of the attorney-General in response to the establishment of a necessary framework for collaboration to prosecute violent behaviour, racist, xenophobic and intolerant that occur frequently in sports stadiums and generate a sense of insecurity and unrest among people who come to the same. The gravity of these behaviors transcends the Administrative sphere to the Criminal and therefore require a strong performance of their prevention and punishment.
In this regard, the standing committee has addressed the episode of the placement on a bridge near the ciutat esportiva Real Madrid a banner with the slogan “ hates the Real Madrid ” and a black jack hung on clear reference to the Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior, in the previous meeting of the Real Madrid and atlético Madrid – Copa of Spanish King. It is worth noting that The state security and police forces have launched an investigation to the identification of perpetrators. It is working, among other lines of investigation, in the viewing of surveillance cameras of trafficking in the area, as well as the images published in social networks to raise the respective proposals for punishment for perpetrators of these despicable acts of racist, xenophobic or intolerant.
Both Real Federación Española de fútbol (DVOBOJU) as the professional football league (LFP) have reiterated their strong condemnation of this sad episode and have shown its determination to cooperate with the commission to achieve the identification of perpetrators. In addition, the Standing committee has considered the immediate reaction of the clubs Real Madrid and atlético de Madrid that, through communiqués, expressed its condemnation and revulsion to deeds and expressed its readiness to work together with the authorities to identify the perpetrators.
Similarly, in connection with the insults made on this same local amateur player in the game that faced the Real Valladolid and the Real Madrid, on 30 december, the commission has initiated the processing of the proposals of sanction for more than a dozen fans, whose identification has been possible thanks to the effective collaboration of the club Real Valladolid. The law enforcement agencies of the State continue to analyse the images available for any further evidence and propose sanctions, which, by its seriousness, have associated fines of 4,000 euros and the prohibition of access to sporting venues for a period of one year for each identified.
