Rodríguez Uribes inaugura el Foro ‘Castilla – La Mancha, Región Europea del Deporte’

Toledo, 16 may 2024.-The president of the supreme council for sports (CSD), josé Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has opened this thursday, the forum ‘ Castilla-La Mancha, European Region of sport ’, held in Toledo in the context of the activities of Women provided Tour Universe in the capital castellanomanchega during this week.
Gender equality in sport, mental health and the sporting industry have been three lines of discussion of the meeting, in which you have also involved the first vice-president of Castile – La Mancha, José Luis Martínez Pebble.
A journey that has had rapporteurs as sportswomen Sandra sánchez, Sara Hurtado and Almudena Cid; the president of the royal Spanish Federation of athletics, Raúl Plating; the director-general of the Foundation of the CSD Young Sport, Félix Jordan of Urríes Mur; the president of the White Foundation, Lola Ochoa Fernandez; or the CEO of Bicycles, David Cenarrusa Vitoria, among others.
The president of the CSD has congratulated Castilla La Mancha – on his appointment as the european region of sport in 2024, a “ excellent opportunity to give visibility to the initiatives from the public and público-privado momentum in favour of the population castellanomanchega ”.
Rodríguez Uribes had appreciated the commitment of the Autonomous Community to work “ in a coordinated manner in order to achieve the objectives set out in the law of sport ”, which has on equality and inclusion their “ inspiring principles ”.
In this regard, the secretary of state for sports has stressed two recent developments of the government of spain on inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The first is the equalisation, for the first time, of the economic awards medal in the olympic and paralympic games, sports and all have the same consideration in the appointment of Paris 2024. “ Look, sport who practise persons with disabilities in the place it deserves ”, has held Rodríguez Uribes.
The second, as announced, is the recognition of the national Hospital Toledo Parapléjicos as canoe Centre sports for persons with disabilities. As president of the CSD, “ many paralympic athletes have gone through this centre, and it is fair to this recognition for their work in the recovery and rehabilitation of persons with core injury ”.
On gender equality, Rodríguez Uribes has highlighted the Universe programme Women fuelled by the CSD in collaboration with fundación Sport Young “ to promote women's sport, changing lifestyles and progress in social transformation ”. A project whereby Toledo, at the weekend, will become the capital of the sport with the arrival of the activities of the Tour Universe Women.
In addition to the three round-table discussion, the central Forum – ‘ Castilla La Mancha, European Region of sport ’ has also included issues such as the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence in sports and the communication.
