Definition and accreditation of DAN

These are high-level athletes, those who have been accredited as such, by resolution of the President of the High Council of Sports. The relationships of high-level athletes are published in the BOE.

Royal Decree 971/2007, of 13 July, on High-Level and High-Performance Athletes

These athletes must have fulfilled the requirements and conditions defined in Articles 3 and 4 of the Royal Decree on high-level and high-performance athletes, before being accredited as high-level athletes, and will lose this condition in accordance with the provisions of Articles 15 and 16 of that Royal Decree.

The request for the high level condition is made through the corresponding Spanish Federation, within a maximum of 6 months after the completion of the sport competition, in which the athlete has made the result, through SEDE CSD . Once included in the Resolution, the athlete can directly request a certificate of this condition from the Sports Council.
