The world of sport turns upside down to celebrate Europe Day
Madrid, 7 May 2025.- The world of sport joins forces this week to celebrate Europe Day (9 May), with the #ElDeportes ConEuropa campaign, organised by the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Higher Sports Council.
Dozens of competitions across the country will highlight the link between sport and Europe and the defence of its values.
In the case of LaLiga, the campaign will be developed with the slogan #LaLiga ConEuropa.
In addition, several sports federations will show their support, in their respective competitions, for the symbols of the European Union, such as the flag and the anthem, and will emphasise that the values of sport and those of Europe are the same, at a time when 80 years have passed since the end of the Second World War, 40 years since the signing of the Treaty of Accession of Spain and Portugal to the EU, and 75 years since the Schuman declaration. Democracy, human rights and respect unite Europe and sport.
