The CSD promotes the digitization of sports federations through the European Funds
The BOE publishes this Monday the order that establishes the regulatory bases of subsidies and aid destined to sports federations for the digitization of Spanish sport
The purpose of these grants is the development of measures that contribute to the improvement of sport through technology, digitisation and dissemination and thus achieve its adaptation to the new socio-economic reality.
Madrid, June 26th, 2023. The Official State Gazette (BOE) has today published the order establishing the regulatory bases for the granting of grants and aid from the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to Spanish sports federations for projects and actions aimed at digitizing the Spanish sports sector.
These grants, funded within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, have as their main purpose the development of measures that contribute to the improvement of sport through technology, digitalization and dissemination for the adaptation of the sector to the current socio-economic reality.
This Digitalization Plan includes a series of measures aimed at the modernization and digitization of Spanish sports federations to optimize sports management and improve the living conditions and results of sportspeople.
Among its objectives is the modernization of the management of the ordinary and economic activity of these entities, improving the elements of public control; the analysis of the data resulting from sports practice for the future planning of projects or the promotion of the digitization of the Public Sports Medicine Centers, among others.
The actions planned in the order of bases of aid published today are a priority element for the achievement of these objectives, since they will involve a significant transfer of funds to the Spanish Sports Federations.
Projects eligible under this order must be included in one of the following areas of action:
a. Digitalization and modernization of the economic-administrative management procedures of the Spanish Sports Federations.
b. B. Digitalization of training processes (planning, execution, recovery and competition) and talent identification.
c. C. Research and development of new digital tools to increase sports performance.
d. D. Digitalization and innovation of the Spanish sports sector.
E. C. Innovación y digitalización en materia de accesibilidad e inclusión en el deporte.
f. F. Innovation and digitalization in the field of sports tourism.
g. Innovation and digitalization in the field of sustainable sport. Innovation and digitalization of the sports sector in rural environments.
The digitalization of the sports sector is one of the pillars of the Plan for the promotion of the sports sector, included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan promoted by the Government and which places sport as a tractor lever with the capacity to transform the economic and social fabric.

CSD+i, an innovative initiative
The main objective is to stimulate this diverse ecosystem and, consequently, improve the connectivity between the different agents involved, increase the competitiveness of Spanish sport, impact on different sectors of the economy and society, anticipate trends linked to high performance, undertake investments in innovation and artificial intelligence and test pilot projects, without forgetting the training of all professionals in the sports sector through educational plans and platforms that allow adopting new digital habits and improving professional skills.
CSD+i will contribute to the transformation of the High Performance Centers, with an interaction platform along with a datalake and a CRM with the aim of unifying, connecting and creating relationships between the actors of the Spanish sport.
It is within this context that the publication in the BOE of the order that establishes the regulatory bases of subsidies and aid destined to sports federations for the digitization of Spanish sport is framed.
