The Network will boost PAFER sports in rural environments

The development of supply and services in these areas will result in benefits in terms of public health

Madrid, 1 march 2024.-With an investment of eur 3.9 million, within the proceedings of theComponent 26 of the recovery Plan, transformation and Resilience, Spain will boost the higher levels of physical activity in the rural population.

The objective with the territorial distribution -acordada within the framework of the conference Sectorial- is increasing levels of sport through a coordinated network of promoters of physical activity in rural areas (PAFER).

These promoters will be responsible for the management and creation of the resources and basic design of programmes on the promotion and activation of physical activity, especially in the areas most depopulated.

The development of supply and sporting services in rural areas can help to improve the quality of life of people, with tools and segmented solutions that help to facilitate, encourage and improve their sporting careers and the suitability and improvement of the spaces where you are carried out.

This will result in benefits in terms of public health and socio-economic development and community levels.

The purpose of this aid is, in addition to contributing to the objectives described above, contribute to the consolidation of structures and spaces that foster equality, dissemination, visibility, training, energy efficiency, the digital processing and accessibility.

It is intended to improve the infrastructure sector and strengthening the sustainable economic activity and employment in rural areas, with the following specific objective: to create a coordinated national network of promoters of physical activity in rural areas (PAFER), equipped with structures and community sports spaces that will allow us to address effectively the various programmes.
