Rodríguez Uribes presents the ‘Be Active’ awards to the administrations, entities and people most committed to the European Sports Week

Castilla y León, the Diputación de Córdoba and the University of Navarra have been some of the winners

Madrid, November 14, 2025.- The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, presented this Friday the CSD-Be Active 2025 awards to the public administrations, educational centers, companies and media that have stood out in the promotion of the European Sports Week.

Held between September 23 and 30, this initiative promoted by the European Commission has had a high follow-up in Spain with 660,380 registered (+11.14%) in a total of 1,368 activities (8.04%), which is a historical figure.

Rodríguez Uribes thanked all the participating entities for their involvement and congratulated all the winners.

“I am always very honored with these awards because they reflect the meaning of sport in our country. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle is part of the axis of action of the CSD, all public administrations and all sports agents,” stressed the president of the Superior Sports Council during the event held in the Samaranch Hall.

 

CSD-Be Active Awards 2025

The CSD-Be Active awards are aimed at public and private entities that have stood out for their commitment to healthy practices and habits during Europe of Sport Week. This edition has been the most successful in Europe, with 15 million participants and more than 50,000 activities in 39 countries.

In the category of Autonomous Communities, Castilla y León has been awarded for having the three most participatory municipalities in the sum of its activities.

The Provincial Council of Córdoba, for its part, stood out among the local entities with more than 200,000 inhabitants.

Among the large municipalities awarded this year are Rivas Vaciamadrid (in the category of between 100,000 and 200,000 inhabitants) and Arganda del Rey (between 50.001 and 100,000 inhabitants).

Other localities with a smaller population such as Martorell (between 20,001 and 50,000 inhabitants), Abrera (between 10,001 and 20,000 inhabitants), Segorbe (between 5,001 and 10,000 inhabitants) and Balanegra (with less than 5,000 inhabitants) have also been awarded in this edition.

The University of Navarra and the CEIP Concepción Arenal, the CEIP Clara Sánchez and the Carmelitas Paterna School Educational Foundation CMT were recognized in the categories of Universities and Educational Centers.

The news agency Europa Press has also received the CSD-Be Active award for the coverage of this edition of the European Sports Week, as well as the work centers Mondo Ibérica SAU, Thor Specialties S.A. and Consorci Sanitari de Terrasa, the sports center Gym Sport Bailen S.L.L. and the influencer Rafa Nogués.

In the category of foundation or association, the winner has been the Municipal Sports Club of Portugalete.
