The High Council of sports implements the final payment of the subvention of Mediterranean games of Tarragona 2018 (09 / 10 / 2018)

The input of the state to this event has exceeded $13 million euros




Madrid, 09 October 2018.-The High Council of sports has made the final today cash payment of the XVIII Olympic Games of the Mediterranean held this past summer in Tarragona.




The total amount that the CSD has provided for the Olympic Games of the Mediterranean 2018 has been 13.026.248,09 €.




In May 2016 an agreement was signed with the Tarragona City Council for the financing of the necessary works in the stadium of Gimnástic, whose amount amounted to €2.526.248,09




In September 2017, the High Council of sports paid from general state budgets, a total of 3.750.000,00 €for the operating costs of this event, as well as other 3 million euros to collaborate in the construction of a large swimming pool for games Of the Mediterranean.




The past 22 August 2018 an agreement was signed between the High Council of sports and Tarragona City Council for the costs of organization of Mediterranean games Bebe 2018, who watched the subsidy of names given to fund operating costs totalling €3,750,000 from general state budgets 2018.




These investments, in addition to enable this great sporting event, have left in the city tarraconense a legacy in the form of facilities for all citizens, that will benefit the pool 50 metres, the first of the city, as well as a stadium that has seen its revitalized bleachers, access to the forums, paving the external spaces as well as internal and external illumination of this compound.




Mediterranean Games of Tarragona quarrelled last summer, between 22 June and 1 July 2018. Spain participated with 396 athletes (218 178 women and men), 178 officers and 31 Arbitrators, the second largest delegation.




# TeamESP managed to finish in second place in play, with a total of 84 metals (25 gold, 31 silver and bronze 28). In competitions were participants of maximum level as the Olympic medalists Mireia Belmonte, Lydia Valentín or Mar Marcus, as well as world champions and Europa as Ray Flash Shoe, Josué Brachi, maría Bernabéu, Nikolov Sherezadishvili or Fátima Gálvez, among others.
