Financial aid to athletes

Spanish athletes may receive financial aid from different public or private institutions (clubs, federations, autonomous communities, Higher Council of Sports, Spanish Olympic Committee, Spanish Paralympic Committee, etc.). At the level of the State/Higher Council of Sports there are currently the following programmes of financial aid to athletes:

>> CSD TEAM SPAIN SCHOLARSHIPS: The CSD grants these grants to athletes and their trainers for Olympic preparation, which must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call. The criteria required are set out in Annex I of the Resolution of the Presidency of the Higher Council of Sports on aid regulations for athletes participating in official international competitions on behalf of Spain, granted by the Spanish Sports Federations, which can be consulted in the link at the beginning of this paragraph.

>>> CSD AID FOR SPORTS RESULTS: The CSD grants this aid to athletes for international results that must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call. The criteria required are set out in Annex II of the Resolution of the Presidency of the Higher Council of Sports on aid regulations for athletes participating in official international competitions on behalf of Spain, granted by the Spanish Sports Federations, which can be consulted in the link at the beginning of this paragraph.

>> SUPPORT FOR SPANISH ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS: They must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call.

>> AIDS TO PROMOTE THE SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE DAN PAYING THE COST OF THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTIONS: They must be requested by the respective Spanish sports federations according to annual call.

>> TEAM SPAIN ELITE PROGRAMS: The CSD grants these aids for the Olympic and Paralympic preparation, which must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call. The criteria required for an athlete or team to be classified in one of the programs included in the CSD Presidency Resolution, which classifies the TEAM ESPAÑA ELITE Sports Programs of the Spanish Sports Federations, can be consulted in the link at the beginning of this paragraph.

>> ADOP PROGRAM: Grants scholarships to athletes and their coaches to support the parallel preparation.

In addition, through the grants that the CSD grants to the Spanish Sports Federations, scholarship and aid programmes are financed in those that have developed them.

Athletes may receive other types of institutional or private aid, depending on their clubs, municipalities, autonomous communities, etc. The latter also usually have their own programmes of financial aid to athletes.
