Spain is the only country in the European Union that has included the tractor sport within the recovery Plan, transformation and Resilience, recognizing the importance that this sector in the country. It is not only a human activity, enormously from the experience and personal well-being; sport is also an important instrument of social cohesion, an effective vehicle for the transmission of values and a strong element of economic momentum.
With a total of eur 300 million from the european funds is to promote the revitalization, restructuring and modernizing the sector of sport, adapted to new socio-economic realities through its digital transformation and adaptation to the ecological transition.
Sport has undergone very directly from the consequences of the health emergency created by the COVID-19. Therefore, it would be preferable to adopt extraordinary measures and urgent for its reactivation as an economic activity, on the basis of criteria for sustainable development, social cohesion, employment creation, attention to vulnerable groups and territorial equilibrium.
Within this transformation process has pursued, in addition, to provide a renewed policy framework for the sector through a new law on sports, with a view to strengthening them as an essential element in the maintenance of public health and the promotion of gender equality.
The momentum of the sport sector includes the development of safe and sustainable infrastructure, in promoting the digital processing of sports organisations, in promoting research on physical activity as an element of health promotion, in the empowerment of candidatures for the organization of major sporting events, in the promotion of sport tourism and in improving the network of high performance centres and sports canoe.
It also pays special attention to infrastructure in areas at risk of depopulation, the promotion of healthy habits through sport and physical activity -mejorando the health of our citizens - and the development of specific sectors to promote equality and inclusion in sport.
These measures focus on addressing the main challenges of sport in Spain.
In all of them are present common objectives, such as: the creation of stable employment, the promotion of equality, the digitization of the sector, the ecological transition through renewable and sustainable structures, collaboration with the Territorial administrations and attention to vulnerable or disadvantaged.
