Free fires the Spanish team Weightlifting in the new fitness room of the CAR of Madrid

The team will compete, from 18 to 27 September, in the world championship of Pattaya (Queen Size)

Madrid, 09 September 2019.The secretary of state for sport and chairwoman of the sports Higher Council (CSD), María José Free, today has dismissed to members of the Spanish team that will compete from next week, from 18 to 27 September, in the world championship 2019 which will take place in Pattaya (Queen Size).

Free has put in value the experience of the members of the selection that will participate in this competition, as well as the work they have done in the last weeks of preparation both in the CAR of San Cugat as Madrid. “We have athletes with an impressive experience. We are very proud of the work we do and visibility to the dais weightlifting, ” said.

The event has been developed in the new training room downtown Democracia high-performance of Madrid, which has renewed the heating, ventilation and lighting, among other aspects. The modernization of these facilities has been possible thanks to a budget of more than €300,000 that, in addition to improve conditions for preparing sportsmen Spaniards, allow joint concentrations with teams from other countries. "Here are the top conditions, the necessary improvements for the best performance, and everything that is needed to give visibility to the facilities and allows the training together with other international teams”, explained the secretary of state for sport.

In the event have been present all members of the Spanish team of weightlifting, with the captain and Olympic medalist, Lydia Valentín, at the head; the president of the Spanish Federation of Weightlifting, Constantino churches; as well as the national coach, Matías Fernández, along with the other members of the technical team.
