The Government of Spain and the Generalitat de Catalunya will contribute with their support to the organization of the BTT European Championship in La Molina

Due to its organizational experience, its good services, access and location, La Molina is an ideal place to host these championships from 1 to 3 August

Madrid, 21 February 2025.- The Government of Spain and the Generalitat de Catalunya lead the institutional support for the organization of the European Championship of Descent, which will be held in La Molina between 1 and 3 August 2025.

The Higher Council of Sports (CSD), an organ under the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, the Conselleria d’Esports and Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat de Catalunya, support the project that the Spanish Real Federation of Cycling presented to the European Cycling Union (UEC) to bring to La Molina the next continental event.

Due to its organizational experience, its good services, access and location, La Molina is an ideal place to host these championships from August 1 to 3.

The Molina Bike Park is a reference of the MTB, with 12 dipping circuits that have as starting point the height 2400m at the exit of the Telecabina Cadí-Moixeró or the upper bound of the Telesilla de Cap de Comella. Through 25 kilometers of tour, the circuits connect the area of La Tosa with the parking of the Telecabina through places of great beauty such as the Coll de Pal, Lago de la Molina or the pine forests characteristic of the area.

The CSD, the Conselleria d’Esports and Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat de Catalunya agree that the organization of these European Championships will strengthen the position of Spain and Catalonia as a suitable enclave for the practice of BTT and as a reference destination in cycling and mountain sports.

The holding of the championship will bring together some 500 athletes from 20 countries, attract delegations and amateurs from all over Europe, encourage sport and boost high-level sport. In addition, it will generate a significant economic impact and allow for the further development of sustainable sports tourism.
