Madrid, December 23, 2024.- On Monday, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, President of the Superior Council of Sports (CSD), evaluated the damage caused by DANA in the sports facilities of the City of Benetcase, where he reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Spain to contribute to the repair of the spaces affected by this catastrophe, whether privately owned.
Rodríguez Uribes has been accompanied by the mayor of the town, Eva Sanz, as well as by the government delegate to the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé; the general director of Sports, Fernando Molinero; the special commissioner for the reconstruction and repair of the damages caused by DANA, José María Ángel; and the general director of Civil Protection and Emergencies, Virginia. Together they have seen the damage caused by the worst DANA in the century.
As explained by the president of the CSD during the visit, “sport will be at the heart of the process of recovering this tragedy, for the obvious benefits to the physical and mental health of the people affected”.

Two aid lines, depending on ownership of the facilities
The Government of Spain has deployed two aid lines for the rehabilitation of the sports facilities concerned, depending on their ownership.
On the one hand, according to the Royal Decree-Law 6/2024, the Government of Spain will contribute through aid to local entities to the repair, restitution or reconstruction of infrastructure, equipment or facilities and services owned by municipal, provincial or insular authorities.
In addition, through a grant of up to EUR 2 million from the CSD budget, it will assist private sports entities listed in the registers at state or regional level. Mainly, clubs and territorial federations that own infrastructures, equipment or sports facilities located in one of the 78 municipalities included in the annex to Royal Decree-Law 6/2024.
The latter aid may reach a maximum of EUR 100,000 per sport entity and shall be intended to cover the costs of the repair, reconstruction or restitution works to be carried out between 28 October 2024 and 31 December 2025 as a result of the damage caused by DANA.
