Financial aid for sportspeople
Spanish athletes can receive financial aid from different public or private institutions (clubs, federations, autonomous communities, Superior Sports Council, Spanish Olympic Committee, Spanish Paralympic Committee etc. ). At the level of the State/Higher Sports Council there are currently the following financial aid programmes for sportspeople:
- CSD TEAM SPAIN SCHOLARSHIPS:The CSD grants these grants to sportspeople and their coaches for Olympic preparation, which must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call.
- CSD GRANTS FOR SPORTS RESULTS: The CSD grants this aid to sportspeople for international results that must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call. The required criteria can be consulted in the link at the beginning of this paragraph.
- AID TO PROMOTE THE SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE DAN BY COVERING THE COST OF THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTIONS: They must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call.
- TEAM SPAIN ELITE PROGRAMMES:The CSD grants these grants for Olympic and Paralympic preparation, which must be requested by the respective Spanish Sports Federations according to annual call.
- ADOP PROGRAMME : Grants scholarships to sportspeople and their coaches for the support of paralympic preparation.
Likewise, and through the grants that the CSD grants to the Spanish Sports Federations, its own scholarship and aid programs are financed in those that have developed them.
Athletes can receive other types of institutional or private aid, depending on their clubs, municipalities, autonomous communities, etc. The latter also tend to have their own programmes of financial aid to sportspeople.
