José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes visits the Joaquín Blume Residence, in the CAR of Madrid
Madrid, March 15, 2024.- The President of the Superior Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, visited this Friday the facilities of the Joaquín Blume Residence located in the High Performance Center (CAR) of Madrid.
The Joaquín Blume Residence, with a capacity for 250 residents, currently has 175 internal and 150 external sportsmen and women - scholarships that can use its facilities and services, but not stay overnight - with an average age of around 23 years. In addition, 26 sportsmen and women are on a merger regime.
Rodríguez Uribes has taken advantage of his visit to exchange impressions with the workers of the residence and with some of the sportspeople who are preparing to participate in the Paris Games.
The Joaquín Blume Residence is located in the CAR of Madrid, a sports venue owned by the Superior Sports Council that has an extension of 150,000 m2.
It is prepared for the practice of 25 sports modalities. An average of 1,000 high-level sportsmen and women make use of its facilities.
Work on the renovation of the football field and the athletics track is currently under way. In addition, the total rehabilitation of the exterior pavilion, the remodeling of buildings dedicated to Sports Medicine and the renovation of equipment of the athletics module and the spaces of the Blume Residence to increase energy savings, through the Next Generation Funds, are scheduled to begin soon.
