Madrid, 5 November 2018.The President of the High Council of sports, María José Free, has closed today in the Senate parliamentary days that have been carried out in recent months and that today have finished with the “proposals for a new legal framework of sport ”, which has submitted the basic lines of the new law of sport.




During his presentation, the secretary of state for sport has been living in the action lines that will serve to update the law of sport, such as the financing of the Spanish Sports Federations, the work of the agenda of attention to the athlete, the figure of the sportsman of high level, sport to school and university sport inclusive, the role of minors or promoting the sport, among other things.




Firstly, María José Free has stressed that the draft bill of the law of sport “is going to be ready as soon as possible. We are working on it because we will give a very solid basis for the future. Furthermore, we met with all actors, whom I have to thank their participation, as well as the commitment of political groups because we saw the potential weaknesses in order to have the maximum legal fortress, ” he said.




Free has claimed that one of the basic tools to improve the current law will be “the conference sectoral, we celebrate this afternoon and tomorrow in the CSD, and that we will coordinate with autonomous communities and cities.
