0 SCOPE
This Regulatory Standard applies to all fields that are wholly or partially conducted with funds of the Sports Higher Council for the practice of football 7 and for the holding of competitions of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF). The Sports Federation is responsible for the approval of each installation for the organisation of official football competitions at national and international level of national teams. This document has been prepared with the aim of normalizing the regulatory aspects of any useful installation for the practice of this sport, for which the current international regulations have been taken into account and has been submitted to consultation of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol.
1 FIELD SIZE
The playing field is a rectangle of dimensions between the following limits:
FIELD DIMENSIONS | Length(m) |
Width(m) |
---|---|---|
Maximum | 65 | 45 |
Minimum | 50 | 30 |
2 EXTERNAL BANDS AND SECURITY
In order to facilitate the development of the game and the safety of players, around the playing field there shall be an obstacle clearance of at least 1,5 m wide, outside the band lines and outside the finish lines, with the same type of sport area as the playing field. It is recommended that the free space behind the finish lines be 2.50 m wide.
3 FIELD LAYOUT
The layout of the playing field shall be in accordance with the figure
the markings lines shall be not more than 12 cm wide and it is recommended that they be at least 10 cm, generally white in colour so that they are clearly distinct from the colour of the playing field. The markings shall not be made by means of grooves on the playing field.
All the lines are part of the area they demarcate.
Paints and substances used for field marking shall not contain toxic chemicals for players and field keepers, only products which the manufacturer and supplier declare as non-toxic in accordance with the legislation in force and which specify the form of use and the protection required in their use (gloves, eye protection, washing of contacts with the skin, etc.) shall be allowed. In any case, lime (calcium hydroxide) will not be used in any case as it can cause severe burns and irritations to the skin and eyes in contact with it.
4 OBSTACLE FREE HEIGHT
It shall be at least 15 m above the field and the external safety belts.
5 ORIENTATION
The longitudinal axis of the field shall preferably be N-S, allowing a variation between NE-SO and NO-SE.
6 LIGHTING
Artificial lighting shall be uniform and so as not to hinder the sight of players, arbitral equipment or spectators.
It will have the following minimum levels of horizontal lighting, color performance and peak glare (GR) in the area of play, according to the criteria of UNE-EN 12193 “Lighting of sports facilities”, which are indicated below:
MINIMUM FOOTBALL LIGHTING LEVELS(Exterior) |
||||
COMPETITION LEVEL | Horizontal illuminance |
Rend. Colour (Ra) |
GR ≤ |

High-level international and national competitions | 500 | 0.7 | 80 | 50 |
Regional competitions, high-level training | 200 | 0.6 | 60 | 50 |
Local competitions, training and recreation | 75 | 0.5 | 60 | 55 |
For TV transmissions color and film recording a level of vertical illuminance is required in function of the speed of the action and the dimension of the object, in the aforementioned standard UNE-EN 12193, sports have been classified, in this sense, in three groups A, B and C; football is not quoted; however by analogy it is included in the same group as football 11, group B illumination.
Level of vertical lighting to be maintained depending on the maximum shooting distance of the cameras (UNE-EN-12193)
The lighting must achieve a good chromatic reproduction index, for which its colour performance will be Ra ≥ 60 as indicated in the table above, however it is recommended that it be equal to or greater than 80. Likewise, the color temperature should be between 4000º K and 6500ºK. For high-definition television (HD) the levels are higher exigencia.Los scales or the lighting towers will not
be placed in any case in the external safety bands, which will be free of obstacles. The distribution of the cords or lighting towers shall be on two lines parallel to the band lines at a minimum distance of 4 m, having three or four on each line, the lateral placement of the luminaires provides good uniformity. In order to avoid glare to the porterers and ensure good lighting of the goal and its area, no lighting scales shall be placed in the sector between two straight lines having as center the middle point of the finish line and those lines form an angle of 10° to one side and to the other of that line meta.La the mounting height of the luminaires in the scales or light towers to ensure that there is no light line The angle formed by the line
from the assembly line of the luminaires to the centre of the field shall be at least 25°.
7 PLAYING AREA
The playing surfaces of natural grass, natural and artificial grass (hybrid system), artificial grass and dirt are suitable. In national competitions the playing area will be natural grass, however it may be artificial grass or hybrid system in competitions, when authorised by the Spanish Real Football Federation or the corresponding Sport Organization, if permitted by the regulation of the competition n.En regional competitions, amateur and
juvenile competitions the area of play will be preferably natural, it may be artificial grass when the Spanish Federation authorizes it
7.1) Natural grass playing areas
Natural grass playing surfaces, depending on the scope of the sport activity (local, recreational, regional, national or international) and intensity of use (Low, medium or high) must meet the requirements or quality specifications indicated in the NIDE FUT-football standard to the delivery of the field, which will be maintained over time with the same characteristics through conservation and maintenance oportuno.Para
obtain the previous The automatic irrigation system shall comply with the requirements of UNE 41952-2 “Automatic irrigation systems on natural grass surfaces for football and rugby”. Sprinklers within the playing field shall be buried emerging sprinklers protruding from the natural grass surface only during irrigation, may bear a top cap with natural grass for safety, in any case they shall not present risks of stumbling, hitching or shock of the players with their fixed or movable part. A reservoir for irrigation will also be provided, which will also collect the water from the drainage for better use and management of agua.Las actions for the conservation and maintenance of the natural grass surface will be carried out so that the initial properties of the sports surface will be maintained with use and time.
7.2) Natural and artificial grass playing areas. Hybrid or mixed system.
Natural and artificial grass play surfaces, known as hybrid or mixed systems, consist of systems which, by means of artificial fibres inserted in the field or in porous and draining synthetic bases spread on the ground, allow the growth of natural grass between them. These systems aim at a better rooting of the natural grass, greater resistance to the rooting of the grass surface by the action of the players' boots, greater uniformity and regularity of the surface, better reduction of forces, avoid compaction of the surface, reduce maintenance, etc. These systems are currently in full development. The natural and artificial grass playing surfaces (hybrid or mixed system) shall comply with the same specifications as the natural grass surfaces indicated in the preceding point.
7.3) Artificial grass playing areas
Artificial grass surfaces hardly need conservation and maintenance work and have no limits in terms of the number of hours of use as in natural grass, are therefore suitable for training fields and with an intense degree of use n.Las
artificial grass play surfaces usually consist of a supporting fabric to which they are fixed and from it stands the fibres of artificial grass, among which the existing space is usually filled with base material. Artificial grass game surfaces for soccer 7 tend to have the characteristics listed in the table below:
HIERBAARTIFICIALSOCCER |
Filling | Fiber height(mm) |
Type of fibre | Derellene height (%) |
Sand + rubber granulate | 40 - 65 | Fibrillated /Monofilament |
60 - 80 |
Artificial grass play surfaces also sometimes include an intermediate elastic layer or base over the base layer in order to improve the reduction of forces in the athletic surface-sport interaction, thus achieving a good absorption of impacts, however they may not include the indicated elastic base provided that the artificial grass and the stuffing of rubber granules provide the required absorption levels of impacts, however it must be considered that with the elastic base the uniform behavior of the sports surface is more useful. The elastic layers or bases can be prefabricated or "in situ". The construction of the artificial grass surface requires the excavation of the base natural terrain eliminating all the existing vegetation and vegetable land, reaching the level
of the firm and preparing its surface, which will constitute the subsoil of the construction. When fillers are required to achieve the required level or to replace inconsistent land, fillings shall be made by layers of compacted zahorras to achieve the required bearing capacity, this layer is called sub-base. In the prepared or subsoil natural terrain or on the sub-base the base or supporting layer is available, for which there are two types of constructions:
- Construction with bonded support layer and horizontal drainage: Consisting of making a first layer support or base layer not linked by the contribution of a layer of compacted zahorras and on it a second layer support or base layer bonded of asphalt agglomerate is extended with a correct planimetry and with slopes towards the perimeter canals for collecting rain water and/or irrigation for horizontal drainage because this layer is waterproof and underneath. The elastic layer or base is installed on the asphalt agglomerate layer, and finally the artificial grass surface and the filling. In order to obtain the necessary planness and regularity of the sports surface, the base layer of zahorras and the asphalt agglomerate shall have the required planimetry.
- Construction with untied support layer and vertical drainage: Consisting of making a support layer or base layer unbound by the contribution of a layer of compacted zahorras and under it a drainage network collecting rain and/or irrigation water as this permeable solution. The drainage network is carried out with drainage ditches filled with filtering material and drainage tubes. A geotextile sheet is also available to prevent the washing of fine material from the layer supporting the drainage ditches. In this case, if the drainage works correctly, it is not strictly necessary to have the earrings on the sports surface. On the non-attached support layer, the elastic layer or base is installed, and finally the artificial grass surface. In order to obtain the necessary planness and regularity of the sports surface, the base layer of zahorras and the asphalt agglomerate shall have the required planimetry.
As far as the criterion for deciding by one type of construction is concerned, it should be noted that buildings with untied support layer are usually cheaper than buildings with attached support layer, however they could have a lower level of dimensional stability due to potential seats if they do not have a good design or the characteristics of the site and the site have not been considered well, or have not had a good quality control of the materials and construction. In any case, for a correct decision and a good design to ensure the good long-term surface behavior, it is convenient to carry out a geotechnical study of the available land to know the type of soil, its resistance, composition, water content, drainage capacity, water table level and its expansivity potential by desiccation/humectation, as well as other important characteristics. This initial site assessment stage is an essential part of the designo.Las artificial grass game surfaces
for soccer 7 depending on the level of sport activity (Local, recreational, regional, national) must meet the quality requirements or specifications indicated in the NIDE “FUT-Football” standard for this type of surfaces, both for laboratory type-approval and for “on-site” tests. Such specifications shall be maintained over time with the same characteristics by conservation and maintenance oportuno.Para sand as stuffing material of artificial grass is required:
- SiO2 96%, CaO 3% content by weight
- Shape: rounded or spherical chants
- Granulometry: 80% of the weight will be between 0.16 mm and 1.25 mm
Artificial grass surfaces shall have a perimeter strip outside the safety, paved and at least 1 m wide outer strips. For the preparation of the artificial grass playing field, cooling it and making it the softest surface to the friction, they shall be equipped with irrigation system, preferably automatic and at least perimeter drainage with canaleta situated on the external edge of the safety belts and the internal edge of the outer perimeter band. The irrigation system may be by means of water cannons arranged perimetrally and outside the outer bands, without sprinklers within the field and, if necessary, by placing emerging sprinklers buried, externally to cover the areas where the cannons do not arrive. The drop of irrigation water will not result in displacement of the filling for which the inclination and pressure of the water will be adequate. Another option is the sprinkler irrigation system located within the playing field, in that case they will be buried emergent sprinklers, protruding from the artificial grass surface only during irrigation and carrying an upper lid with the artificial grass surface for safety, in any case they will not present risks of stumbling, hitching or collision of players with their fixed or mobile part. This option may pose risks for players in the medium and long term as well as greater conservation and maintenance complexity.
7.4) Compact Earth Play Surfaces
Compact earth play surfaces are made up of several layers consisting of granular mixtures of aggregates of different grain sizes mechanically stabilized by compaction, usually without binding substances except water. Compact dirt playing surfaces are only acceptable in basic facilities, for recreational use and local and/or regional competitions. The ground playing areas shall comply with the following requirements:
COMPACTED LAND FIELD REQUIREMENTS | |
---|---|
Uniformity / Flatness, (mm)At a distance of 3m |
≤ 10 |
Infiltration/Drainage (mm/h) | ≥ 10 |
Ball boat (%)(Drop from 3 m) |
35-65 |
Ball rolling (m) | >10 |
Hardness (g) | >140 |
Traction (Nm) | ≥ 35 |
Maximum cross-sectional slopes (%) | ≤ 1 |
The tests shall be carried out using the test methods specified in UNE 41951-1 “Natural grass sports surfaces”
In addition, the following will be noted:
- The ground pavement shall not contain toxic or harmful substances to health.-
Its constituent materials must not cause persistent spots or weaning.- It
must not contain clay materials.- There will be no
grains larger than 1 mm and the percentage by weight of grains between 0.5 mm and 1 mm will be less than 25% to avoid danger of abrasion injury.
The dirt surfaces shall have a irrigation system to improve the hardness of the field and to avoid dust formation. Likewise, they will have a drainage network in case the base ground is not sufficiently permeable (permeability less than 70 mm/h). The actions of conservation and
maintenance of the playing surface of compacted soil are essential to keep the field in perfect condition avoiding its compaction and irregularities in it that would make it hard, with risk of joint injuries and therefore dangerous for athletes. Maintenance and maintenance operations shall be carried out (Decompaction, levelling, supply or replacement of the upper layer, etc.) so that the initial properties of the sports surface are maintained with use and time.
8 LA PORTERIA
The football field 7 will be equipped with two lotteries, they are placed in the center of the finish line, their interior measurements are 2 m high by 6 m wide.
It shall comply with the rules of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol and the requirements of resistance and stability as indicated by the standard UNE EN-748 “Soccer Lotteries” The assembly, installation and maintenance shall be carried out in accordance with the instructions to be provided by the manufacturer.
