Speed skating on ice in STOL is practiced on a surface of white ice, without division of streets and consisting of an oval 111,12 m long performed on an ice rink dimensions of 60 x 30 meters. The measure of the length of the track is performed on an imaginary line located 50 cm from the inside edge of the track.

Short track speed skating rink consists of two lines and two semicircles at the ends, the curves and the straights will be symmetrical. The skaters perform the race in the opposite direction-clockwise. The width of the line is not less than 7 meters and the distance between the cones (“ block ” apex) of the curves and the barrier will be at least 4 m.

Short track speed skating rink drawn on an ice rink 60 x 30 metres has the following characteristics:

Straight length To = 28,85 m

Radius of the curve R = 8,00 m

Radius of measurement of the curves Rm = 8.50 m

Width of the straights a = 7 m

Track Length (a return):

L = 2-( 57,71 m) + 2 x 8.5 xΠ(53,41 m) = 111,12 m = 1 lap

For each of the races the number of turns is:

500 m = 4 and ½ laps

1.000 m = 9 laps

1,500 m = 13 and ½ laps

3,000 m = 27 laps

5000 m = 45 laps

Next to the standard track must have four other tracks that will be displaced between 1 or 2 meters in every direction of the track standard for preserving the good conditions of ice. For all tracks will be used a single line of arrival. to start line see
