ATLl long jump and Triple


The area of jumps in length and Triple Jump consists of the corridor to make the career momentum, whipped table, the area of extension of the corridor and the pit falls. The length of the corridor, can be unlimited, and should not be less than 40 metres. The corridor and its area of extension should have a width 1.22 m (± 0.01 m). The area of extension of the corridor between the whipped table and the beginning of the pit, as well as the pit of crashes, will have a minimum length variables as shown in the table below:

Each corridor will have simultaneous use in the pits falls of a minimum width 2.75 m and 3,00 m of maximum. See drawings


To facilitate the development and vision of the competition by athletes and spectators, bands will be reserved minimum free spaces 1.50 m minimum width in the perimeter of the corridor of race and the pit falls.


The height between the pavement and the nearest obstacle (power lines in outdoor facilities; underside of roof, hang beam, luminaire, through air conditioning, in covered facilities) both on the area as on the outer bands should be entirely free and have a minimum of 4 m.


The central axis of the corridor of jumps and the pit falls must match the geographic address N-NO, S-SE, with their variance within the period between environment and Not. It must take into account the winds which must be enabled the leap towards both N-NE as towards S-SE.


The corridor of the zone of jumps will have a pavement features equal to the race track. The corridor of jumps and its area of extension admitted a maximum outstanding lengthwise (in the direction of the race) from 1 per 1000 and laterally of 1 per 100 to enable the draining superficial waters. * Rules and the soles of the shoes heels may have up to a maximum of 11 nails. For synthetic pavement part of the nail that protrudes from the soles or heeled should not exceed 9 mm, except for leap of height and of throwing spears not exceeding 12 mm. The maximum diameter of the nails will be 4 mm In another type of pavements the maximum length of the nail is 25 mm diameter and the maximum 4 mm


Artificial lighting is uniform and so that does not cause glare of athletes, judges nor spectators. Mark the standard UNE-EN 12193 “ Illumination of sports facilities ” and will have the following minimum levels of illumination:

For TV broadcasts of color and recording movies requires a vertical illuminance levels of at least 1,000 lux and 1,400 lux in international competitions, however this value can increase with distance from the camera to the object. For more information regarding vertical illuminance, uniformity, color temperature and Performance index of color must consult the mentioned law.


The layout of the zone of jumps will agree with drawings

Areas of long jump or triple jump will be built with total independence and different location of the remaining athletic specialities or be superimposed with other areas, usually speed straights, corridors pole-vaulting, jumping areas of height and corridors of of throwing spears. Areas are usually jumps over one of the straights of athletics abroad or inland, with a moat of fall at each end to allow the jumps in both directions. The complete route can be specified the following details:

7a) Fosse falls: it is a rectangle with a variable length as laid down in paragraph 1 of this rule and a minimum width 2.75 m and a maximum of 3 m. The fosse falls will be filled by fine sand moist or other material similar, that leaves a trace clear and precise athlete's fall to make your jump. The sand will be laughed washed or quartz sand grains with no greater than 2 mm of whom do not more than 5% by weight will be less than 2 mm and does not contain organic components. The sand or the fill material must be both with whipped table, as the top side of the piece of resale of the pit.

The moat fall will be limited by a kerb at least 5 cm wide and 20 cm high with the rounded edge towards the interior of the pit and with the previous field level. It is desirable to improve security that the upper edge of the pit of fall is rounded and flexible material.

The fosse will be resolved the evacuation of rainwater through a system of drainage and sand will be filled with a depth of 0.20 m minimum in the edges and 0.30 m minimum in the center, the level of sand is previous to the kerb, terrain and level of whipped table. See figures

To measure the wind speed in a leap, you must provide the existence of a measuring device that speed (anemometer) that will be 20 m from the whipped table to a maximum of two meters separation of the line of the corridor and placed at a height of approximately 1.22 m. it provides for the existence of an additional table and chair for the timely anemometer make the annotations.
